This is a handsome and characterful solid pine desk which dates to the Victorian era.
I love this piece, it looks like it was taken from an old sea Captains cottage on the coast.
It is solid, heavy and very well made and is perfect for use in an office or study, having the benefit of splitting down into three sections which makes it easy to transport and position in any room.
The desk comprises two large pedestals, each housing three spacious drawers. The top of the desk has three further drawers, all fitted with aged metal cup handles. The drawers would have once had partitions but these were removed long ago. The desk has an unusual look which will suit a home with character. The wood has a darkly waxed finish.
CONDITION
The desk is in solid structural condition with many marks of age and use. The top has one obvious mark and various other marks and knocks below the waxed finish. Most of the drawers are in clean condition with a couple having historical ink stains. Please take a look at all of the photographs to get an idea of its condition.
