Victorian Mahogany Dentists Kneehole Work Chest With Opaque Glass Top
This is a handsome antique dentists work chest which dates to the late Victorian era.
It is a rare and unusual piece, perfect for use in an office or treatment room.
The chest is extremely heavy and solid, the front fitted with an arrangement of seventeen useful drawers. One drawer is double width and made to look like two drawers at the front.
The chest is fairly deep and has a small kneehole space, the top is fitted with a removable opaque piece of glass.
The finish is dark and rich, the wood has a French Polished finish which has been cleaned and waxed.
CONDITION
The chest is in solid structural condition with many small cosmetic marks of age and use which give it a good amount of character.
The base would have once been set on castors, these were removed at some point in time.
The glass top has a small filled repair of around 20mm to the back corner where a piece of glass had chipped away, this has been repaired purely for cosmetic reasons.
