An attractive French style cabinet by Gibbard of Canada.
The cabinet is made of cherry wood and dates to the late 20th century, it is well-made, heavy and solid, and will provide a good amount of storage in any home.
The front is serpentine in shape and is fitted with double doors set under a single wide drawer. The drawer has a central partition and a removable tray, designed for storing cutlery.
The cupboard doors open to reveal a single shallow shelf, allowing it to be used for storing bottles and glasses.
The doors and drawer featured attractive decorative brass handles.
I have hand painted the cabinet in a pale bluey grey colour before adding a wash of grey and then lightly distressing and finishing with dark wax to give a slightly aged Gustavian finish.
CONDITION
The cabinet is generally in solid structural condition with minor cosmetic marks of age and use.
