An attractive Victorian carved oak writing table dating to the 19th century.
The table is very heavy, solid and well made and is a distinctive looking piece which is perfect for an office or lounge.
The table has a green tooled leather insert to the top and two blind frieze drawers to the front. To the rear are two flanking dummy drawer fronts, allowing the table to be used as a centre table if desired.
It is raised on ornate supports which are united with distinctive turned stretchers.
One of the drawer bases has a partial old makers label which I can't quite make out.
The table has been sympathetically restored in our Devon workshop, newly French Polished but still retaining its character and depth of age.
CONDITION
This piece is in solid structural condition with various small signs of age and use.
The leather has various marks and scratches and internally the drawers have little shrinkage gaps at the fronts.
