Red Two Part Plan Chest with 5 Drawers
Red Two Part Plan Chest with 5 Drawers
This is useful two part plan chest which dates to the early 20th century.
Made of solid oak, with oak plywood lined drawers, it is ideal for an office or workshop, the wide drawers perfect for storing large paperwork and art.
The height lends itself well to use as a crafting or preparation table.
The chest is fairly large but not particularly heavy and splits into two parts. The top section has three drawers and the base section two drawers, the bottom drawer is a dummy drawer, made to look like a drawer but with nothing behind the drawer front.
All of the drawers are finished with nicely aged cup handles apart from the top one which has baton style wooden handles.
The oak has a red stained finish, an unusual colour for a plan chest which makes it rather striking and distinctive.
CONDITION
The plan chest is generally in good structural condition with various cosmetic marks of age and use, mainly to the top which has quite a lot of marks and scratches.
The drawers run well and the interiors are in fairly clean condition, a couple have some bowing to the plywood bases.
