This is an attractive pair of antique chests which began life as part of a large desk.
Made of oak and mixed woods they are deep and spacious and will provide an good amount of storage in any home. They could be used as large bedside chests or perhaps for office storage, ideal for stowing away paperwork and stationery.
The front of each chest is fitted with four spacious drawers which are finished with turned wooden handles. The drawer interiors are in quite clean condition and the drawers run well for their age.
The bases are finished with a deep plinth and each drawer has an attractive shaped escutcheon.
The chests have been hand painted in 'Mustard' from Rustoleum paints, the colour is a lovely pale buttery yellow. The paintwork has been lightly distressed and then waxed for protection. The finish is solid colour and is fairly matt.
CONDITION
The chests are generally in solid structural condition with various cosmetic marks of age and use. Please see all of the photos to get an idea of their condition.
