An elegant French Louis style desk dating to around 1860.
Modestly proportioned the desk is made of oak and walnut and has a wonderful patina of age. The front with a three drawer configuration of two drawers flanking a central drawer, all finished with attractive mouldings and brass drop handles and with working key.
The desk top is inset with a green tooled leather skiver which is characterful and gently aged.
Raised on elegant slender cabriole legs with carved detailing to the top and terminating in scrolled feet.
The wood has a traditional wax-polished finish.
CONDITION
This piece is in original condition with various historical marks including a narrow filled crack to the leather skiver.
The drawer interiors are generally in very good clean condition.
