We are unsure of its original use but would say that in later years it has been used in a workshop for storing tools.
It is ideal for use in an office or workshop and offers plenty of storage space for tools, collectables or artists materials. Made of mixed woods the chest is fairly solid and well made and is well sized for use on the top of a desk or table.
The front is fitted with eight wide drawers which are all finished with small brass handles, you can see a hole in the front of each drawer, this is a bit of a mystery but perhaps they were numbered at some point in time.
The wood has a wax polished finish.
CONDITION
This piece is in solid structural condition with many marks of age and use.
The top has a lot of scratches and dents and the drawer fronts have old holes.
