This is a characterful old travelling trunk which dates to the late Victorian era.
This piece has seen a very active life with many long sea voyages, the numerous luggage labels for 'Canadian Pacific Ocean Services' a testament to its travels.
Made of pine the trunk is covered with old embossed vellum and strengthened with iron banding. To either end is a large leather carrying handle and the base is inset with small metal castors.
Internally the lid of the trunk is fitted with a fall front storage compartment fronted by a small correspondence wallet.
CONDITION
This piece is in solid structural condition with many cosmetic marks of age and use!
There is a chink of wood missing from the top and some metal banding missing, it is very characterful!!!
The middle latch does not close into place, the key has been lost somewhere in time.
