This is a handsome Ipswich oak style livery cupboard dating to the early 20th Century.
Made by Alfred Allen of Birmingham this quality piece is made of solid oak and features carved doors, hand made hinges and a useful panelled under-tier.
The left hand door has an internal toggle to hold it closed, the right hand door has a decorative metal handle which turns to hold the closed.
There is a single shelf to the interior which can be removed if desired. The wood has a lovely wax polished finish which has a deep patina of age.
It is an unusual piece which could serve a variety of uses, perfectly suited for use in a dining room or hallway.
CONDITION
This piece is in very good condition for its age.
The top has some faint ring marks below the polished finish.
