A large and impressive antique chest of drawers which dates to the 19th Century.
The chest came from a country house in Devon and is a handsome statement piece which will provide useful storage in any home.
The front is fitted with an unusual arrangement of eight drawers which get larger towards the bottom of the chest. All drawers are finished with turned mahogany handles and one is lockable.
The chest is raised on ogee bracket feet.
We have hand painted this piece in a striking blue black shade from Rustoleum which is called 'Black Sand'. The paintwork has been lightly distressed and then waxed for protection, it has a fairly matt, smooth finish.
CONDITION
The chest is in solid structural condition with various cosmetic marks of age and use. The front right hand foot has been repaired at some point and has a crack running across it, it is perfectly solid and stable. There are various marks and knocks under the painted finish. The drawers run fine but the runners have worn over time.
