A superbly distinguished large oak estate managers pedestal desk dating to the turn of the 20th century.
Made of richly coloured oak the desk is large, solid and well-made, a handsome piece that will make a statement in any room.
The top of the desk is inset with a green leather skiver decorated with gold tooling, this is set below two raised drawers which are topped with pierced brass gallery rails.
The desk has top has three spacious drawers which are raised over two pedestals, each housing three drawers, all finished with decorative brass drop handles. There is a generous kneehole space to accommodate a large office chair.
The wood has a traditional wax-polished finish.
CONDITION
This piece is in original condition with various historical marks including a couple of old ink stains to the leather skiver.
Both side panels have a narrow aged related shrinkage gaps.
The drawer interiors are generally in very good clean condition, there is no key present for the locks apart from one drawer which we have managed to find a key for.
