Gothic Ebonized Oak Green Man Bureau Bookcase
Gothic Ebonized Oak Green Man Bureau Bookcase
This is a handsome lockable antique oak bureau bookcase which dates to the Victorian era.
It is a distinctive Gothic looking piece which is perfect for use in an office or home study.
The bureau bookcase is solid and very heavy but has the benefit of splitting into two parts, making it easy to transport and position in any room.
The base is fitted with three spacious drawers which are heavily carved and finished with ornate green man handles. Set above the drawers is a fall front lid which sits on two wooden lopers. The fall front opens to reveal a fitted interior and a piece of black velvet which is a later addition.
The top consists of a lockable glazed cabinet which has three adjustable shelves.
The wood has an ebonized finish which has a nice sheen.
CONDITION
This piece is in solid structural condition with various small cosmetic marks commensurate with age and use. The later ebonized finish has wear which gives it a nicely aged look.
