An early 20th Century oak sectional barristers bookcase by Globe Wernicke. This iconic piece has six sections, a base section with drawer, four glazed sections and a shaped top plinth. It features all of the classic elements usually found in these well made pieces of furniture, copper banding to the sides, which allow extra sections to be added as desired, up and over glazed doors and gently curved edges. The top glazed section bears the Globe Wernicke stamp.
Measurements height-150.5cms width-86cms depth-27cms internally the sections each measure 23cm high(maximum height for book storage) x 81cms wide x 20cms deep The measurements are taken at the widest points and the bookcase splits into six parts.
Condition
In excellent sympathetically restored condition. The backs of each section have some old inactive wood worm holes.
