An attractive Chinese chest which dates to the early 20th century.
Made of elm the chest is large and spacious and could serve a variety of purposes in any home. It is ideal for use as blanket box or perhaps for storing clothes, a nice alternative to a traditional chest of drawers.
The chest is rectangular with a deep lift up lid which opens to reveal a clean and spacious interior.
The lid is fitted with a typically styled Chinese brass latch and to either end is a brass carrying handle.
The chest has a red and gold lacquered finish which is decorated with auspicious bats and figural scenes.
CONDITION
This piece is in solid structural condition with various cosmetic marks of age and use including some small losses to the lacquer, please take a look at the photos as they form part of the description.

depth- 56cms at the top, 58cms at the base
