An attractive Chinese chest which dates to the early 20th century.

Made of elm the chest is large and spacious and could serve a variety of purposes in any home. It is ideal for use as blanket box or perhaps for storing clothes, a nice alternative to a traditional chest of drawers.

The chest is rectangular with a deep lift up lid which opens to reveal a clean and spacious interior.

The lid is fitted with a typically styled Chinese brass latch and to either end is a brass carrying handle.

The chest has a red and gold lacquered finish which is decorated with auspicious bats and figural scenes.
