This is a large vintage coffee table chest which dates to the late 20th century.
Made of pine and mixed woods it is quite substantial and spacious and could serve a variety of purposes in any home. It is ideal for use as coffee table, having the benefit of discreet storage, or could also be used as a large toy box in a playroom.
The chest is square and the top has two flanking lift up lids which are hinged and are held closed with aged metal latches.
The chest is set on turnip shaped wooden feet.
The chest has been hand painted in a water based eggshell paint from Dulux called 'Red Ochre', the colour is a lovely earthy red colour. The finish has been lightly distressed and then darkly waxed for a smooth and tactile finish.
CONDITION
This piece is in solid structural condition with various cosmetic marks of age and use below the painted finish.
