A characterful chest of shop drawers dating to the second half of the 19th Century.
This piece is very well made, solid and heavy, but is not particularly large.
The chest is made of mixed woods including mahogany and pine and the front is fitted with twelve drawers which are all finished with aged metal cup handles. The base is raised on simple supports and has an open front.
We have gently restored this piece in our Devon workshop, it had been stored for many years in an old workshop and used as a workbench, so was in quite a state when we acquired it.
It has been cleaned up, lightly French Polished and then waxed, retaining its rustic character and signs of age.
