A handsome solid oak tavern bench dating to the early 20th Century, designed and hand made during the Arts and Crafts era.
The bench is styled with a high arched back and features gently curved arm rests and a locker seat. The base of the bench is set on bracket feet and the seat has a lift up lid which conceals a useful interior storage space.
The wood has a darkly stained, almost black finish which has been cleaned and waxed.
CONDITION
The bench is in solid structural condition with various cosmetic marks of age and use.
The panels to the back rest are slightly bowed.
The finish is original.
