Antique Regency Period Bow Front Mahogany Chest of Drawers
Antique Regency Period Bow Front Mahogany Chest of Drawers
This is a superb large country house bow fronted chest of drawers which dates to the early 19th century.
Made of mahogany, oak and veneers it is a quality piece which is well made, solid and very heavy.
The chest is fairly large and will provide an good amount of storage in any home, it is elegant and timeless and has a lot of character.
The bow front is fitted with five wide oak lined drawers which are finished with very unusual decorative brass drop handles set on ornate back plates. The drawers fairly well and the interiors are in clean condition.
The chest is set on swept feet and the wood has a polished finish which has a nice sheen.
The chest has been sympathetically restored in our workshop to retain its character and sense of history.
CONDITION
The chest is generally in good structural condition with many small cosmetic marks of age and use and a few areas of veneer loss.
The drawers run fairly well for their age and the interiors are in clean condition.
The top has an area of water marks near the front and various scratches and dents below the polished finish.
The drawer handles have been changed over the years to accommodate changing tastes, they are fitted with their
original handles again now but at the back you can see where knobs once sat.
Please take a look at all of the photos to get an idea of its general condition.
