An elegant country house chest of drawers dating to the Georgian era.
Made of mahogany and mixed woods it is a quality piece which is well made and elegantly styled.
The chest is modestly sized and will provide an good amount of storage in any home, it is a timeless piece which has a lot of character.
The front of the chest is fitted with five drawers which are finished with decorative brass drop handles and escutcheons. The drawers run well and the interiors are in clean condition.
The chest is set on a narrow plinth and the wood has a French polished finish which has a good sheen.
The chest has been sympathetically restored over the years and has much character and a good
sense of history.
CONDITION
The chest is generally in solid structural condition with many small cosmetic marks of age and use and various veneer patches and small missing sections of wood here and there.
The handles have been changed over the years to accommodate changing tastes, the ones fitted now are of the period.
The top of the chest has various marks below the polished finish.
