A stunning antique French cast iron and brass bed dating to the early 1900s. The bed is a standard 4ft 6inch double size and is in very good condition for its age, having been professionally re-enamelled in recent years.
It is quite unusual in that it has square supports rather than the usual round ones that you see on many antique cast iron beds, this gives it a very elegant look which will suit both modern and vintage interiors.
The bed has a tall bed head which is surmounted with a curved brass top rail and round brass finials. The bed fits together with side rails which simply slot into place.
The enamelled finish is of superb quality and is in very good condition with minor marks commensurate with age and use.
With the addition of some simple wooden slats the bed is ready for use.

width-137cm at widest points
length-205cm at longest points, 196cm for the area where the mattress will sit
There are some small knocks and dings to the brass work and the brass uprights have some play, they can be turned easily rather than being tight.
