This is a handsome small antique Victorian desk that is perfect for use in an office or home study.
The desk is very well made and heavy, made of solid mahogany with a breakfront top inset with a piece of tooled brown leather. Each pedestal has four spacious drawers which are finished with brass drop handles set on ornate backplates. There is a further central drawer to the top and all the drawers have locks but unfortunately the key has been lost somewhere in time. The wood has a French Polished finish which has been cleaned and waxed. We are selling the desk with an antique chair which matches it rather well. The chair doesn't sit under the desk due to its width but the knee hole space is the right height to place your knees under and work easily at the desk.
CONDITION
The desk is in solid structural condition with many cosmetic marks of age and use. There have been small repairs made here and there to the drawer fronts, a couple still have small areas of damage to the corners. The chair is nicely aged and full of character.
