This is a handsome old antique chest of drawers dating to the first half of the 18th century
It is a very characterful piece which will provide a good amount of storage space in any home.
The chest is made solid oak and has the benefit of splitting into two parts, making it ideal for a small home or a cottage with a tight staircase.
The front is fitted with five drawers which are finished with attractive brass drop handles, these are later replacements but suit it rather well. The base is set on tall bracket feet.
The wood has a darkly polished finish.
The chest has been sympathetically restored in our workshop and has much character and a good sense of history.
CONDITION
The chest is generally in solid structural condition with many small cosmetic marks of age and use and various internal repairs.
The drawers run fairly well for their age.
The top of the chest has marks below the polished finish.
Please take a look at all of the photos to get an idea of its general condition.
