There's something wonderful about a branch line railway, and today we had the pleasure of visiting the Totnes Riverside station, part of the South Devon Railway on a glorious June afternoon.
Visiting this charming station feels like stepping back in time and we took a moment to sit and enjoy an ice cream whilst waiting for a train to arrive.
Branch lines like this are living pieces of history — a reminder of a slower, more considered way of travelling. Much like the furniture and objects we seek out, they carry stories in every detail: the worn wooden benches, the painted station signs, the smell of steam on a warm day.
We came away inspired, as we so often do on days like these.
