Superb Large Antique Haberdashery Cabinet
A superb large handmade haberdashery unit dating to the early 1900s.
Made of oak, pine, mixed woods and veneers this substantial piece of shop furniture is solid and heavy but has the benefit of splitting down into seven manageable parts, these are, base plinth, top plinth, left and right side panels, two glazed drawer sections and base cupboard section.
The front is fitted with an arrangement of 48 drawers which are all finished with bone labels, the drawers sit behind glazed doors which slide up and over the drawers. The doors run well and the drawer interiors are in good condition, some show signs of once having dividers.
Below the glazed sections are two large cupboard spaces which have solid up and over doors.
The cabinet is set on a shallow base plinth and the sides are panelled.
The wood has a waxed finish which has a mid sheen,
This piece has been restored in our workshop and is in generally good condition with many small marks and signs of age and wear.
One of the drawers is a new replacement and a few of the bone inlays have been replaced.
The left hand side panel has been replaced.
The base plinth has worn at the back, some of the wood has been sanded to remove woodworm damage.
There is some slight rippling to the veneer on the doors.

cupboard spaces measure 40cms high x 85.5cms wide x 48.5cms deep
