Rustic Antique Pine Pedestal Desk
This is a rather rustic antique pine pedestal desk which dates to the late 19th century, a useful and attractive piece which is made from pine and mixed woods.
It is quite lightweight and has the benefit of splitting into three parts, making it easy to transport and position in any home.
The desk is set on twin pedestals each housing three graduated drawers which are finished with turned wooden handles.
Above the pedestals are three further drawers, sadly we don't have the key, this has been lost somewhere in time.
The desk top is inset with a piece of green leather which is quite aged looking.
The wood has a waxed finish which has a nice sheen.
The desk is in solid structural condition with many cosmetic marks of age and use.
To say it is rustic and very well aged would be a fair statement, if you love old pine this is probably the desk for you.
There are various marks, repairs and old wood worm holes. The leather has scratches and there is a filled knot hole to the right hand side(this is an old historical repair which we have left). There are some chips of wood missing and several of the handles have been repaired. The desk has been checked over and repaired as necessary in our workshop to make it functional but retaining its character and aged charm.
The drawer interiors have various marks here and there.
kneehole space measures 56cms high x 53.5cms wide
The measurements are taken at the widest points and the desk separates into three parts.
