Large Antique Chinese Qing Period Noodle Cabinet
A handsome large Chinese Shanxi region cabinet dating to the 19th century, 'Qing' period.
A very characterful piece which will make a fantastic statement piece in any home.
Of tapered form with 'yuan jiao', rounded corners and made of solid wood the cabinet is tall, heavy and well made and offers plenty of interior storage space for all manner of things.
The cabinet has double doors to the front which open to reveal four storage spaces and two spacious drawers.
The doors feature decorative metal handles with the original pin to lock them closed.
The wood has a superbly aged original dark painted finish which has dull over time.
This piece is in good structural condition, there are many marks here and there to the wood and the finish has many variations in colour and texture.
The bottom right hand side of the lower apron has been replaced and the shelves are later antique replacements. The front left hand leg is worn on the side edge, a piece of wood may have splintered off many years ago. The left hand side panel has a repaired shrinkage crack.
