This is a beautiful antique Japanese Kodansu cabinet on stand dating to early 20th century. Made of lacquered wood the cabinet is inlaid with ornate mother of pearl detailing and really is a thing of quality and beauty. It is a lovely piece to store jewellery. The cabinet has two doors to the front which open to reveal an arrangement of six small internal drawers which are finished with ornate drop handles. The cabinet is set on a stand which has curved supports.

The cabinet is in good condition and presents well for its age, the key does not work in the lock, the doors stay closed of their own accord. There are several areas of damage to the lacquer, along the top front edge and on the base.
